Life Beyond Limits, Inc. and Chainbreakers VIP serve Chicago’s most vulnerable and underserved communities — especially Black and Brown youth, adults, and families living in areas with high violence, poverty, and limited access to resources.
We prioritizes red-zone communities—areas identified by high rates of gun violence and community trauma by deploying consistent, relationship-based outreach directly on the streets where incidents occur.
Violence Reduction, Youth Development & Economic Opportunity
Our initiatives are designed to reduce violence, strengthen youth outcomes, expand employment and career pathways, and promote long-term community stability.
Priority Populations
High-risk youth, young adults, and returning citizens impacted by community violence, reentry challenges, and economic barriers.
Trauma-Informed & Community-Centered Services
Serving women, men, and young people through trauma-responsive outreach, one-on-one mentoring, supportive case services, healing-centered engagement, and connections to mental and emotional wellness resources.
Family Stabilization & Basic Needs
Supporting families facing urgent life challenges, including food insecurity, housing instability, mental health needs, and limited access to essential resources and services.
Mental & Emotional Wellness
Providing emotional wellness support, trauma recovery resources, grief care, crisis response, and referrals to culturally responsive mental health providers.
Communities Served
Long-underresourced neighborhoods across Chicago’s West and South Sides, including Austin, North and South Lawndale, East Garfield Park, Chatham, Auburn Gresham, Woodlawn, and Bronzeville.

Building Financial Stability, Ownership, and Generational Impact
Workshop Purpose
Provision Wealth Builders is a transformational workshop designed to equip individuals and families with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to move from survival to sustainability—and from sustainability to ownership. The workshop focuses on practical financial education, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment, especially for individuals impacted by systemic barriers, poverty, and community disinvestment.
Dr. Sandie A. Norman is a transformational leader, advocate, and visionary dedicated to breaking cycles of poverty, violence, gun violence and homelessness while advancing community transformation. Born in Chicagos Lawndale community and later moving to the historic Ida B. Wells housing projects, she brings both lived experience of gun violence and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underserved families and communities.
Dr. Sandie son was impacted by gun violence which catapulted her drive to save young men and women from the streets. In 2024, Dr. Norman was honored with the President’ s Lifetime Achievement Award and an Honorary Doctorate in Christian Humane Letters, recognizing her years of service and impact. She also holds a B.S in Criminal Justice. As the founder of Life Beyond Limits, Inc.,
Dr. Norman has spearheaded grassroots violence de-escalation and prevention initiatives known as Chainbreakers V.I.P., along with community outreach, family support, and empowerment programs that bring healing, stability, and opportunity to vulnerable neighborhoods.
